Yes they are using many different ways to influence people's life, more terroist attacks to prove they are strong enough to conquer the world later....
The government authorities used the media to promote the threat from terrorist. In contrast, terrorist also used the media to spread their info in a relatively small scale. It seems the beneficiary is all the public people whom know more about the contents of the arguments between the government authorities and the terrorist as well as keep us abreast of the threat from terrorist so that hopefully there may be less suprise and effect on the next incident caused by terrorist.
Is there any way to stop the terrorists using cell phones in spreading these videos? Are governments introducing any methods to stop them??
remember the news about self-bombers DVDs for children were selling in England a couple weeks ago on Metro?
what next? podcast?
and this photo reminds me of a website that was circulated around the email inboxes. it was a (fake i guess) dating website for al-qaeda women. and bin laden was the 'week's top male' with heart shapes flashing around his photo....mwahahahahaha it was so funny, yet very sad.
Yes indeed they are infiltrating in every means they could.
As for government control, for sure anything could be done but the more crucial question is whether is should be done or not. just as I've discussed in my blog earlier, introduction of control over information flow is very controversial.
Terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda will do anything to rally support from innocent and vulnerable young men and women, mostly moslems who are brainwashed to commit atrocities aganist humanity in the name of martyrdom. It is therefore not a surprise to see them post recorded videos on their websites which are downloadable to mobile phones. With the internet being a free democratic medium where anyone can post any comment, I wonder how such terrorist activities can be censored on it. I don't know how, but I think if the internet is well regulated in future, using the internet by terrorist to gain publicity could be curtailed. Until that happens, I think, the various terrorist groups will continue to gain free publicity on the internet.
I don't think there is a way of stopping this flow of terrorist info, I think they'll always find a way to infiltrate... But what we could do is maybe not showing too much panick, and use the same tools (like internet or cell phones) to publish "counter-videos" showing how the government and international antiterrorist networks are not scared and well-prepared to foil their attacks... Not displaying the techniques secrets of course;)Because I think terrorism is often more playing with fear than actually really efficient in every terrorist actions
